Endurance...??

Addiction was not a problem in the 17th and 18th century....when I heard these words in the workshop I attended I wondered...really?  The word 'addict' was not described in the dictionary until 1899.  It seems as though back then addict = social status.  The middle class held moral values in tact...and were the last to be affected by addictions.  Endurance - Stamina - Values....what happened to all of that.  That which we can all hold deep in our congruent truth???  What happened?  We are so quick to find fault somewhere else, in someone else....it could not possibly be something we have done or said right??  It saddens me to realize that so many of us have fallen into the trap of the 'blame' game.  We not only need reasons why things are the way they are...but additionally seem to feel the need to justify why we need the reasons by blaming an incident in our lives or a person/group etc to tag some additional blame to.  Because...it can't be OUR fault or misunderstanding now can it?  Wow, sounds like I am really on my soap box today...but for the most part it is true. We wonder why there is so much addiction in our society...we have totally become unattached to endurance.  Endurance has really become a mystery.  Think about it....I really need to do the same.  Thanks for reading...more to come
